This is a fast-paced fantasy involving a mixture of humanoid creatures, elves fairies, pixies and other magical beings and animals that talk. Many of the characters are heart-warming and convincing. It is a little, difficult, however, to pinpoint exactly the age of the reader to whom this text would appeal. The inclusion of talking animals may put off older children and adults. The language is almost certainly too complex for younger children. Also, the plot has so many twists and turns that it is quite difficult to follow, even for an adult reader.
The author creates some convincing dialogue, but does tend to use this for trivia whilst portraying more important plot points through indirect speech. It is also unfortunate that the text is marred with several typos, run-on sentences and odd formatting mistakes. This prevents it from seeming like a real professional publication. This is a great pity as the cover is quite attractive and the book would look good on a book shelf. Amazon lists this as a very expensive book at £11.89. £6.99 would be a realistic price for a book like this.
