Green Ice is a thoroughly enjoyable read, well thought out and nicely presented. For a self published book it’s impressive. Where are the typos and clichés? There’s a distinct lack of bad grammar and no re-reading of sentences necessary.

A contemporary adventure story with real kids as its heroes. Kids that are well brought up and don’t swear and that believe the best of everyone, including the alien found in their shed. I liked very much this fantasy-reality mix with a great save our planet moral to it. The friendly alien who is able to transform itself whenever required almost becomes a treasured pet. It’s motives become clear as a manhunt for its presence begins.

My only negative comment is the cover picture, in the words of my fourteen year old when I suggested he read it “no way, it’s looks really boring.” Sorry but appearance really does count. The book is aimed at 10–14 year olds, so I feel the cover should be designed to sell it to their age group, more high visual impact needed here.

I think it will be a hit and would make a great movie. I read it in two sittings, well-done M.R. Rose, this is a good work all around. It has 237 pages and at £6.99 for a quality paperback worth the cost and worth the read.
